Stumbled back across this one. Always made me laugh a bit.

.... color version as well, but I always preferred the B&W.

If you want to de-emphasize the dog, B&W is better. But I prefer the color version because the brown on the dog's face pops out and draws my eye to him/her.

Milky way?

Possibly the wrong forum, but I can't find a better one on my tablet.

I tried to find the Milky way last night, I'm near Brandon Manitoba, it's 10.30 and the camera is pointed south east. 20 secs at f8 iso 3200. But no Milky way! Was it to early, too light, wrong direction or wrong time of year?

K3ii, 18-135

Thanks in advance.

The "small bird set up". K-3 and Tamron 300 2.8 with the F 1.7x AF adapter.

I tried to out blackbird Riggomatic, I have a huge flock of grackles with a few redwings blackbirds mixed in at the feeders right now. I could here them all around me, but they wouldn't come to the feeders while I was in the blind. The crows were furious with me. It's been so long since I was in the blind they thought that the food I put out came without strings attached.

But I did get some other images.

By the time I got done with the purple fringing and CA, there was almost no colour left in this one.

The spring moult is on, getting dressed up for the ladies.

Backyard visitors

Backyard visitors . . . on crop sensor, the Pentax 67 200mm makes a pretty good birding lens.

KIT: K-3 with (adapted) Pentax 67 200mm f 4.0.

wild life with K-3

Here are some backyard visitors.

KIT: K-3 with Pentax 67 200mm f 4, nice combo for birding, sharp and easy for manual focus.
