There doesn't appear to be any eggs, so I suspect your right. It was just too busy around here with yappy dogs and strange guys taking photos!

K-3 and Tamron 300 2.8 with Pentax HD DA 1.4 TC.
Anyway, the migration continues, bird headed on their way north to their breeding territories. For day there were a few Red Winged Blackbirds hanging out with the grackles. Today most of the grackles were gone , there were a few left hanging out with the Red Winged Blackbirds.

A straggling Grackle....

One of the (probably immature) Red Winged Blackbirds
\

New yesterday, 3 or 4 female Redwinged Blackbirds

These guys stop in for a few days spring and fall. There were three last fall, I've just seen one come back to date, a fox sparrow.

The latest arrival before yesterday, the White Thrated sparrows, who've been here about a week, and who's calls fill the woods when you walk. A whole flock must have arrived.

One of the American Tree Sparrows who stayed the winter, still hanging around.

And also one of the 4 or 5 Dark Eyed Juncos left rom the 40 that wintered with us.

And of course, our contingent of rodents.

Have you ever shot the DA 300 with the HD tc? I’m curious how it would compare to your Tamron Lens in AF and image quality.

I'd be interested in that too, and I am occasionally in the company of a DA*300 ƒ4 (with it's person attached.) . It may get done some day.

But it's one of those quandary. If I show you and you like the Tammy, the odds of you ever getting one are pretty slim. Only 100 were made, mine came from an estate, people are found clutching them in their cold dead fingers.

The closest I've come is a forum member shot almost side by side with me with his DA*300 and I don't think you could tell from the images which image was taken with which lens.

Reposted from the Spiders thread... D-FA 100mm WR, 1.4X HD DA tele-converter, Raynox DCR-250, at MFD plus a ~16MP crop. Frame is a little under 7mm wide.

That makes sense. Thanks

Well done. Good shots that show what you can do with Pentax, despite all the bitching that it's not good enough.

This reminds when I was in Ryerson for photo arts, we used to occasionally go to a local burlesque hall during our lunch breaks.

As a 17 year old, I think I was a bit young to appreciate the experience. But it was the final days of burlesque and it was also a lot less sanitized than what your images depict, including a clientele of older men in crumpled suits. The clientele was as interesting to me as the performers. That's who I would have photographed given a choice. One day a few of us tried to photograph the clientele and were immediately escorted from the premises. That might be the only time I've been ejected from any kind of public setting.

Thank you guys. yeah I need to get my DA* 50-135mm fixed so I get back that stop of light. Given the poor light that I had to deal with, this combo did really well. I was at an effective ISO of 12,000 and as you can see it looks good. All of the full frame guys were moaning like mad.

Norm, good story about the crumpled suits. The crowd here was more hip with the typical "pin up" type women.

Another one at the same ISO

Spring has arrived. Got a couple nice violet-green swallow shots with the K-3 and DA*300 this morning.

Out at the local conservation area today practicing with the Sigma 150-500. I had better luck with the AF looking through reeds than not.

Excellent. What is the yellow-headed one? I'm not familiar with it.
