Just one a year, Larry? Or just post one a year, more likely.

Albert, this is the only one I've seen this year. Usually our flowers last well into September but this year most are not blooming. I changed potting mix this year is probably the reason. Oh well, live and learn.

The potting mix must have changed the odor. How disappointing not to see those beauties more often.

That is a great meteorological capture! I claim no knowledge about the science, but I usually see pictures that capture rain falling in curtains or sheets on the horizon, but that really shows the belly of the cloud getting heavy and letting go in a more circular deal, which I don't see nearly as often. Very cool.

I see storms like this in Florida a lot, so I should try getting some images sometime.

Summer storms are often like this in the sw. We see it, in part, because we have lots of broad vistas. A fun variant is the virga. Where water leaves the cloud but evaporates before it hits the ground. We see that a lot in the early summer when the humidity is still very low.
