In the ancient days of college (Hint: It was affordable back then. That's how long ago it was) I used to play the Ventures while doing my homework and studying. I have several of their albums. If not them, the Moody Blues.

Kayama first came to fame playing surf music in the 60s, including covers of the Ventures and Dick Dale along with his original stuff. It's a beautiful guitar.
