It's definitely heading into glove season in our area (we aren't that far apart, globally speaking). Getting - C numbers (below 32º F) and white lawns.

A couple that I took some time ago that I really didn't like. I like them now.

Who is the artist, John? Interesting viewpoint, not from mosh pit, makes a big difference.

Hi Arjay

The band is called Walking Papers which is or was made up of Jeff Angell (The Missionary Position), Barrett Martin (Screaming Trees), Duff McKagen (Guns and Roses), and Mike McCready (Pearl Jam). That night McKagen and McCready weren't there. Since that night the band has changed again with newer members.

The show was packed so I tried to find a place to shoot from without pissing off the fans. :-)

Looking through some old photos form March 1, 2015 I found these from the High Point overlook of the gorge at Letchworth State Park. The gorge is it's deepest here at 550 feet (170 meters). At first I didn't see much here and just did some post processing to see how they turned out. Image 1 is the first result. After zooming in a bit I found something on the far wall. On the far wall you see a ledge of rock about 2/3 of the way up the snowy area of the wall. Just to the left of center along that ledge you see a small clearing with a single tree in the center. There is a small dot there.

Image #2 is another view of that area and image #3 is a heavy crop of image #2 zooming into the area of interest. Standing there you can see 4 whitetail deer doing their best mountain goat imitation. The top deer is #1, #2 is at the 7:30 position below #1. #3 is at the 7:00 position from #2 and #4 is directly below #3. I am pretty sure that I can see a few more deer in the wooded area just below these 4 too.

I took these using a Sigma 17-70 zoom lens on my K3. These were just after I got the K3 when it went on a brief sale from B&H.

A departure today, because I don't have a 150-450 I have to decide in advance what I'm shooting with. I knew I had a chance at some Pine Grosbeaks and we have a Robin still with us despite the unusual cold, so I took out the DA* 60-250 with the HD DA 1.4 TC on it.

K-3 and DA* 60-250amd 1.4 TC @350mm ƒ5.6)
ISO 400, ƒ5.6, AV mode

Today's cream of the crop.
