Starting off the year with a bang! This is a 43-frame handheld focus stack. (My movement was a bit unequal, so I could have probably achieved a similar shot with fewer frames. Still...!) Pentax-M 135mm F/3.5 plus Raynox MSN-202. That diopter is so powerful that this (admittedly rather large) snowflake didn't even fit into the frame.

A water dragon dominating a crocodile ornament on my front patio. He sure looks like he thought that he had won the battle but the croc didn't put up much of a fight.

Not like the brown snake that ate a brown snake picture I saw on the ABC News website this morning.

Oh, I didn't see that! Water dragons are most welcome here but brown snakes are most definitely not.

Thank you. My wife alerted me to his presence and he stayed there just long enough to get a few shots.

Thank you.
The whole story sounds like a completely made up fairy tale...

"In Ontario Canada, there's an island you can only access by boat that has more Owls than Seagulls and Chickadees"
I wouldn't have believed it either, but I went, I saw, and captured. It was unbelievable.
25 Snowy Owls along one of the roads, and then at Owl Woods (wooded area) there were Saw-whets and supposedly Barred Owls and Long eared Owls but I didn't find the Barred or Long eared.
I'm going to head back there in the spring/summer and see how many Hawks, Eagles, Ospreys and Harriers there are.
