My afternoon.... My outdoor time starts , usually with feeding the birds.... Pine Grosbeaks are over wintering at our feeders this year. A neighbour 1 km away doesn't see them, but has an infusion of redpolls. The next chore is chopping wood for the night and bringing it in, there's a wee bit of snow on top of the wood shelter  Both these activities involve throwing tennis balls to border collies.  Then the walk starts Fungi  Fungi on a cut tree   Jesse and Tripper Dawg waiting at the 'New path cut off" to see which way we're going. They wait at every path intersection.  All three Border Collies , we got one of each colour to make a complete set. It's really hard to get the red one.  A leaf.  Tia at Beach Tree Corners, almost home. 5,000 Fitbit steps for the whole walk. Maybe 4 km. at Beach Tree Corner the Old School Road intersects with the Dolittle path, which takes us to our path which leads to our back yard. I rarely see Tripper after this intersection, once he realizes we're going home he just boots it, and waits for us on the porch.  It was a tough walk today, sections haven't been walked since the last snow fall, and I had to break trail, going up hill, (both directions in my pyjamas, for those who remember the ad.) I toss the ball almost the whole way. Forward for Tripper, backwards for Tia, so there's no confusion who's turn it is. | |
