K3 sample shots ... post here ! No test shots ! No brick walls !

Ahead of the game but I thought that it would be nice to have a dedicated thread to view the sample shots taken by owners of the new K3 .... all in one thread.

It would also be nice to see what lens(es) is (are) being used and any specifics (EXIF).

Ideally, as rawr suggested, this thread should be somewhat the equivalent of the "No more tests - Just pictures" referred here:https://www.pentaxforums.com/forums/115-pentax-k-5/123731-no-more-tests-just-pictures.html

If this is going to be a redundant thread , please mod's : dismiss it.

Cheers!

JP

It's only redundant if someone else starts a thread with images in it!

EDIT: Because some folks are too (___) to be bothered with a useful plugin to show them the EXIF data in every image, I've taken screenshots of what I see when I right-click and choose "Show EXIF." There is no reason for me to repeat this in the future. Go get a plugin for your browser if you want more information than what I write. They even have EXIF viewing plugins for phones!

Let's get the ball rolling, on this Halloween Night! (FYI, the EXIF is intact in the images, but they are hosted on my own site, so get EXIF Everywhere to right-click and see it all) Here is a Vampire Girl (white and green makeup on her face) under the harsh glare of the pop-up flash with the DA 35mm Macro Ltd:

And here is a 100% pixel-level crop:

And apropos of the evening, here is a pumpkin in the rain (at ISO 12800, but noise reduced in Nik Define, and resized to tinyville for the web), also from the DA 35mm Macro Ltd:

The K-3 has no focus problems at night, even with a macro lens.

Way to go !!

The close up (100% crop) is very good indeed and that is a good sign.

About the 12,800 ISo shot: was it "that bad" before you've used the NikDefine software? I mean, it is taken with a macro lens afterall, so this is really good.

You say that the photos are on your own site: where?

Thanks for sharing.
I will certainly enjoy this thread.

Cheers!

A suggestion: a little rule should be added to the top of the thread:

- no shots of brick walls pls
- no test charts.

Ideally this thread would evolve as the K-3 equivalent of the long-running K-5 'No tests, just pictures' thread.

Just noticed that there is also a K-3 group on flickr that is starting to see some user images:
Flickr: The !!Pentax K-3!! Pool

Photoble has also added a category for K-3 images that has begun to attract a few K-3 pix from Japanese users:
Photoble Uploader for PENTAX

Right, from the images I've seen so far, you K3 owners are hereby banned from submitting any images to photo contests here at PF.
You've clearly got an unfair advantage.

Here is a few shots from this morning...very grey morning with rain and wind !

I was shooting with the Pentax 50-135mm WR. Im suffering BF/FF, had no time to re adjust my lenses with the new body.

Straight from the body, no PP besides lens correction in Lr5.

Just modified the title of this thread ... good idea !

I'll also add up the suggestion you are making concerning the "equivalent" to the K5 thread in question.

Cheers!

JP

EDIT: I added the suggestion as you suggested !

You guys should know by now, no Pentax camera is ever successful unless it can render the beauty of a handsome squirrel. So get out there and find one, post it here and get the K3 rolling in the right direction early!

Regards!

I totally agree !!!

K3 users shall therefore plan to start a dedicated section devoted to "Contests".
I vote to call it "K3 - only ! Contest"
