The first file has much more detail and sharpness, but also has color moire in the fencing and other areas. The second is less detailed and softer, but lacks the moire. Seems obvious that the K-3 is #1 and K-5 is #2

If they come up with sensors with even more megapixels, I'm going to stockpile K5 series cameras.

E.jpeg is the K-3 (JPEG 1). K-3 doesn't seem to have as much color saturation as the K-5 & E.jpeg seems a little less saturated. I'm assuming the same settings were applied to each image.

Both of them have a moire. It's comparison with the K-5IIs, not the original K-5. Moire will not tell you a lot, look for something else.

Hint: what does pink & green moiré look like when scaled down?

Try scaling up the K-5IIs image next... oh wait!

[Also, you should've removed the file names & numbers from the EXIF!]

Assuming they were both shot in tha same mode (jpg or raw) and if any post-processing was done, it was done the same to both images. AND asssumng that that K-3 has an AA filter (I think it does) I say that File one is the K-5IIs and file two is the K-3. The detail is clearly sharper in File one. That should be because of the lack of AA filter on the IIs

It does not have an AA filter. It does have a simulated one via sensor movement, but we can safely assume that it was turned off in this case...

Found some more detail in some spots with "e". Tough to tell though.

Colors are very different between the two files...

It doesn't.

BTW, living it in Adobe RGB will drive people with non CMS browsers to wrong conclusions about color rendition and was simply lame. But even more lame was leaving the metadata... :P
The WB is on As Shot and shows different temperature and tint, it should be on the same setting (let's say Daylight) and the color profile should be Embedded for both files.

Am I crazy, or does File One looks significantly sharper in the centre, where File Two looks sharper at the left and right edges - particularly the right?

Which makes no sense (assuming they were using the same lens, and not two different copies of the same make of lens). I'm probably crazy. Gah, pixel-peeping is what's crazy.

Moire in file one so I assume that would be the K5iis unless there is some other variable.
