Blind test: K-3 vs K-5 IIs

Tell me which photo is from the Pentax K-3, and which is form the K-5 IIs. Both shot from the same tripod with the same lens (DA 35mm Limited) at the same aperture with the same white balance. Developed from a RAW file at default settings in ACR. The K-3 file was scaled to match the K-5's resolution.

Have fun!

File one
File two

K3 - K5IIs blind test

I was hoping that the Chromatic aberration would have improved but both seem to be about the same.....or is that from the lens?

I'm guessing B.jpg or file two is from the K-3.

I would say file two is the K-3 because of the colder AWB.

That is a lens issue.

I seem to see moire on the background fence in both images, so I'm confused...still feel image 1 has slightly higher resolution and voted that one is K3.

*edit* Nevermind, now I see the comparison is between K-3 and K-5IIs (I thought it was K-5), so if K-3 has AA disabled I guess both would show similar moire.

The K-3 is not going to have better DR than the K-5IIs.

There is one thing to look at which separates downscaled pictures from native resolution ones, and it is obvious in this case.

File 1 is clearly more detailed.
