File One is my choice, looks richer and deeper than File Two, and has more clarity imo.

Looking on my iPad, I'd say one is K-3.

File one is K3

You should really re-set the IMG counter on both cameras!! LOL

593 shots on your K3 already.

3470 on your K5

"Full frame" is "obviously" "much better". Or isn't?
Full frame at the same MP may not be all that different but 36MP v 16MP certainly is
DA*200 @ f/2.8 V AF-S 300 @ f/4:
DA is a bit softer at f/2.8

Both lenses @ f/4 are sharp

I didn't mention this the last time you showed the pic... but why don't you show the frames of the same picture?

Taking the WB and Color Profile for color rendition, different focus points for softness, the K-5IIs for the K-5, judging the dynamic range and shadow latitude by bumping up the shadows of 8-bit JPG files (LOL), not noticing such an obvious thing like MAZE ARTIFACTS on the distant fence which always mean we are over Nyquist limit... I had more faith in people here...

I'll be probably stating the obvious, but the picture from Nikon seems to be bigger.
Well, bigger body equals bigger pictures I guess...

K-5 upsampled to D800 Resolution

DA*200mm @ f/2.8 v AF-S @ 300mm f/4 (almost matching DOF)

DA*200mm @ f/4 v AF-S 300mm @ f/4

cause all that apparent detail is fake and it would be fairly trivial to make image 2 looking as image 1 (I mean better) but not vice-versa, I'm afraid

Fifth Law of Thermodynamics

All comparison threads eventually degrade into APSc v's FF. This is independent of the initial test subject.

I did not see a hose featured in either the first two images.

well now there seems to be teeny weeny more detail in Nikon picture. But that's only fair to those lugging bigger cameras around. As they say "no pain, no gain!"

However, having voted, and then read the thread, and then looked at the EXIF, I discover that I'm so much a techno Luddite that I'm still not sure how to tell
Without wanting to spoil it for others , the name of the camera used to capture the image is available for both images.
It's in the standard place for Photoshop created files, all this about sensor resolution reported is over egging it quite obvious when it says Pentax K3 or k5
