I'd go to this but I don't work in the city... and it's a pain to try drive in to make it to something at 6:30... especially around circular quay and the rocks

I don't work in the City, either. I don't work.

I'll go in earlier by train and do a few ferry runs around the harbour or go to Cockatoo Island for some pics. Heck, it's only $2.50 all day for unlimited train, bus, and ferry rides.

How can you get that $2.50. People pay $6 for short return trip train from city to newtown.

I'm retired and now an old age pensioner. Free entry to National Parks. too. My anti-cholesterol drugs and my eye drops (to prevent glaucoma) are labelled $0.00 It's about time I got something back from the Govt. I never got the First Home Owner's Grant or s reduction on Stamp Duty on the purchase of our home like people of today get,

There have to be some perks for being a senior.

The last time I went to NZ, it cost my wife $4 for my ticket on Jetstar. They had a deal of taking a friend for $4 (or was it take a friend for free) so she took me! But then, she and our daughter are good at getting cheap flights - like the $37 each way to Vietnam (from Sydney) on Jetstar.

Great deal there! Did you have to sit on the wing or did they give you a seat inside?

Probably as cargo for those super prices
Jetstar would probably do it too, if they could get away with it.

Also received the invite, but plane ticket must have missed the mail. Seriously, its a shame that CR Kennedy couldn't run a show in each capital to give all the long suffering Pentax fans a chance to celebrate.

Anyway, on another note, my silver K3 arrived this morning and it is a sight to behold!

Cheers.

Damn. I have to pay for my Lipitor and (3 different) Glaucoma drops. and all we get from the Govt. up here is ObamaCare (and I'm on the wrong end of that deal, too).

Actually inside! The $4 fare to Christchurch was to celebrate Jetstar's 4th anniversary flying to CHC. (The take a friend for free was to somewhere else, maybe Darwin or Singapore). The Vietnam fares were on the inaugural flight to Vietnam.

You have to keep an eye on the Friday Frenzy deals. Oh, we've never had problem with Jetstar.

I was being a little economical with the truth but not much.

Before I became a pensioner, the Lipitor and Xalatan were $36 each per script. Once I got my pension card, scripts dropped to $6 each (maximum). However, we've gone over the govt. threshold of (called the Pharmaceutical Benefits Scheme Safety Net) this year in prescription costs ($354) so all scripts are now free. The local doctor and pathology labs cost nothing as they bulk bills the govt. (I can use any doctor or lab, not one set by the govt.) Specialists still charge like wounded bulls but we get a lot of the cost back from the govt. Oh, that applies to anyone in Australia, not just pensioners,
