I was being a little economical with the truth but not much.

Before I became a pensioner, the Lipitor and Xalatan were $36 each per script. Once I got my pension card, scripts dropped to $6 each (maximum). However, we've gone over the govt. threshold of (called the Pharmaceutical Benefits Scheme Safety Net) this year in prescription costs ($354) so all scripts are now free. The local doctor and pathology labs cost nothing as they bulk bills the govt. (I can use any doctor or lab, not one set by the govt.) Specialists still charge like wounded bulls but we get a lot of the cost back from the govt. Oh, that applies to anyone in Australia, not just pensioners,
Shhh.... There are Americans on here. They don't like hearing about socialistic and evil health care systems some of us are forced to endure.

Viva capitalism!!!

Back on topic.... I read elsewhere CRK are out of stock. Will give them a call tomorrow as I processed an order on Monday and want to know if it is on backorder.

Hopefully everyone is taking their cameras and there will be awesome pictures of the event, so we can all live vicariously through your good fortune.

Haha oh man, you ever work so hard you forget days as they go by quickly? At least I knew it was a Tuesday - although I have to keep checking what day it actually is all the time

I was going to take the Q but my daughter, who lives 500km away, has it. She used it during her recent US holiday. I can't see me getting it back by next week!

So I'll take the K-5 and spend a few hours beforehand taking pics on the harbour.

Bumping this thread, in anticipation of some event photos from tonight's K-3 launch party in Sydney, and maybe some Pentax news too.

To be honest, I'm resigned to not seeing any event photos or posts by participants until tomorrow at best, after the hangover wears off.

I got the impression from the discussion with the lady at CRK that these had already been shipped and they were in transit. It's the next lot I think could see a delay.

We had a great night tonight. We all got a nice bag of freebies. For those who didn't go and wanted a Silver edition you missed out big time. The lady from Ricoh came with 5 extra ones. Australia were only alloted 50 in total but now there are 55 here. I also managed to order an HD DA 70 Limited for $580. Pictures and more info later.

Thank you. Look forward to the pix. What was the attendance like?
I am in NSW, but 800km away from Sydney. CRK should do these shindigs in every capital city That way I could get to a Brisbane one, without too much effort ...
