K-3 flash issue

Pretty straight forward test. Take picture, pop up the on board flash and take picture.

What's going on here? EXIF says "flash manual" but it's not on the flash manual setting. It's on the "flash on setting" with 0 compensation, which previously never underexposed like this. I tried "green mode," and it does the same thing. Bug?

Also, just mounted my AF-360, same result.

Your ISO is 6400 in the first pic and 200 in the second, I doubt the popup flash has enough juice to overcome the 5 stop difference. If the camera was in an auto exposure mode though, I don't know why it chose such bizarre settings.

One thing I avoid with P-ttl is having auto ISO.

My K-5 didn't have a problem with auto ISO and flash. But here is the same test at ISO 200 The flash fires, but it doesn't show up. Like it was in wireless control mode, but it's not. And both the onboard flash and my external flash is doing this. It's busted ain't it? Anyone have any clue what's going on? Is there a menu setting I'm neglecting?

Yes. It fires in all modes. But it doesn't show up in the pictures.

Weird. It's like you're only getting the pre-flash.

What about a full camera reset? It's worth a try.

tried it. Both the "wrench" menu reset and the custom menu reset.

Is there are "harder" reset?
