would any one mask the ricoh on k3

I don't have a k3 yet but the box and the new hd coating lenses have a big ricoh then a small pentax logo. Makes me uncomfortable. I know it doens't affect the performance. I am sure konica minolta fan didn't the sony logo back then.

don't know should this thread in pentax k3 section or accessory section.

If Ricoh is the reason our Pentax gear keeps getting better, I have no problems seeing their logo on my gear.

Embrace the force Luke….
Assimilation is inevitable…
Resistance is futile

Pentax failed us miserably, Ricoh is keeping the K-mount alive… what else do you need to know?

See this thread (all 31 pages, and still going): https://www.pentaxforums.com/forums/172-pentax-k-3/239325-why-i-wont-buy-k3.html

So far the incredible speed, resolution, and groundbreaking technology of the K-3 have yet to make me "uncomfortable" so I think I'll keep it.

Come on. If there is no Ricoh, Pentax is dead.

Or you could just not start another thread like this

I think it shows a complete lack of respect for Ricohs photographic heritage. No one seems to bat an eye at electronics companies that license the use of German optical company names. This may be the best photographic merger that's happened certainly better than the absorption of Minolta into the maw of Sony. Both Pentax and Ricoh where great on their own together they will be better. I think Ricoh has shown already they respect The Pentax brand give it a rest.

Nope your right as long as Ricoh continue producing excellent K mount cameras they can put Mickey Mouse on the front in big letters.

I assume you know the heritage of the name pentax ? given the fuss you making.
let me help a little
Fate Merged into Hoya Corporation (Currently health care division of Hoya); imaging division resold to Ricoh
Founded Tokyo, Japan (1919)
Defunct March 31, 2008

Don't forget the name Pentax was an original trademark of the German company zeiss from Pentaprism and contax , but was taken by Asahi Optical company in 1957.

Pentax as anything but a brand name didn't exist till in 2002 Asahi Optical company took the name Pentax Corporation, So there is no 'history' for Pentax as a company.

Today 'Pentax' is back in its heritage the brand name of a proud camera producing company.

No.

I have a Buick sedan. It has both GM and Buick symbols on the car body. I don't mask the GM symbol with duct tape.

Naah, Ricoh didn't buy up Minolta like Sony did. Sony is much more aggressive in that regard. Ricoh isn't just buying names, its actually more like a partnership.

Water pumps? That's a new one. No association with the actual optical Pentax name I don't think? (Which is split among four corporations now.)
