Thanks for the info, i did find one of his videos here, this is exactly what happens to the cameras in rough conditions.
This is what i'm looking for.

I wonder if only the internal zoom lenses that don't telescope out are safe to use. I can see sand getting back inside the lens if one tries to change the focal length.

Well it's a lot safer than having a lens with out any sort of weather sealing treatment done.
