Lightroom and K-3 raw files

still issues?
I process 24mp photos on my pc with LR 3.5 on a breeze.
When i think of hardware, your specs seemed more than plenty. But you have not mentioned the harddisk. rpm 5400 or 7200
myself: i7/8GB/7200rpm HD

preview images with low res seems to point to issues in loading the images. The harddisk can sometimes be the bottleneck in this.

Actually you can't process K-3 raw PEFs with Adobe DNG Converter. There is no support yet. They claim it is coming, but won't say when.

Slightly off topic - but I had an old copy of Elements 6.0 lying around. Put it on a second computer and tried to process some K3 DNG files. The program couldn't read the files. Updated the raw converter to 5.6 (the most recent for Elements 6.0) and it was able to handle the DNG files.

I tried using PEFs for a month earlier this year While I use Lightroom for most of my processing, I did have problems using other tools on the iMac. Eventually I decided to go back to the DNG
