I love the facial expressions in this one as the inevitable presents itself.
From the ball carriers "your goin' down big guy" to the watcher's "uh oh... this is gonna be ugly'
That's a fabulous photo - pro-quality story telling!!

Lacrosse is Canada's official summer game (Ice Hockey in winter). It used to be the only official game until the 1990's, even though everyone thought it was hockey. Good shooting, Dave.

Thanks, Albert! It's a spring season sport here but these gals seem not to adhere to that--which is fine by me.

A few shots from a girls' golf match today. Used the Bigma until the light faded then switched to the Sigma 70-200 f/2.8.

My daughter made her first appearance as an alum in her old school's Homecoming field hockey game. A plus was that they dispensed with the "goggles"

This is a mother daughter pair: they show up for the game every year--and they're good!

Fun shots, especially the peewee football players. That's a lot of shooting (and traveling) for you. Just standing in one sports center all day shooting a soccer tournament wipes me out for the next day. I would imagine juggling three events regularly takes its toll on many body parts. I bet it keeps your shooting eye and reaction times quite sharp though.

My grandson's peewee football we attend every weekend.

My niece in water polo and nephews in soccer are Junior College and I can't always get out to their games but if they are playing nearby I try to go.

As I attend more events I am able to anticipate where the action is going to be next so I can zoom in a little closer or try new angles.

I'm learning a lot and try to have fun with it.

Three shots at the 750m distance in a U13 800m race. Photographer sitting 2/3rd of the way down the finishing straight, beside the inside lane. Taken with a K-3 + Pentax-FA 50/F1.7.

This is an affordable sharp lens, but an 85mm FL prime would be better for stand-off of approaching runners. With a 50mm FL, to get the junior subject large in the frame you end up with the subject very close and get partially side-on shots, as in the 3rd example.

All shots 1/2500s, f/2.8, ISO100.
