Well I have to look into that, but did a shoot today with the K-3 and all three lenses from f4 to f13 so there must be something in it. At my first glans that there are some amazing images in the bunch.

The teleconverter doubles your DoF by 2, does it although affect the difrraction?

as i mentioned it somwhere earlier, ive tried to compare k-3 to my k-x on macro photos, and there was really no big difference in terms of sharpness and detail resolution.
the smallest detail just grew in size twice, on my k-x it was 2-3px large and on the k-3 4-5px. ive tested it with different macro techniques, mostly with f5.6 and higher.

does it have smth. to do with the airy disc?
k-3 has a pixel pitch about 4m - that means on f2.8 with 3.7m till f1.2 with disc of 1.6m there should be more details visible than on the k-x 5.6m.
the only way to use such apertures is focus stacking, or would a doubler provide no aerial disk growth?

and the best resolution on my k-x will provide f4 with 5.3m good to know.) next test, reversed 50mm f1.4 on f4 with a doubler...) too bad there are not much insects around any more.
