Pentax K-3 Review | Digital SLR camera reviews, tests and specs | What Digital Camera

The reviewer doesn't seem to think much of the AF on Pentax cameras even on the new K3.

I dont think any of us thought the K-3 AF would be on par with canikon but it is a great improvement ..
He or She does gives it an 88 out of 100..

The reviewer used 2 screw drive lenses, the kit lens is not know as a speed demon, and the 60-250sdm which is also not know for fast focusing.
He also states "As usual with Pentax DSLR cameras the AF is quite noisy". Is Pentax screw drive noisier than any other brand?

I'm sorry. I can't take anyone who doesn't know the difference between "there" and "their" seriously.

Agreed, when I saw that diction error, the value of the words--even the nice ones--dropped appreciably.

Yes he has spoken positive of Canon before and other brands as well.

Annoyingly so. My non-USM lenses for Canon are far quieter. It's not just that Pentax-mount lenses are noisier, it is the perception of the noise that I believe can help drive reviewers to their conclusions. To me the whining sound is an unwelcome flashback to the 1980s.
