Grrrr... I was thinking all this time that Class 10 is Class 10 is Class 10. I knew CF cards had UDMA and other higher speed modes, but missed that SD had gone to faster speeds even within Class 10 cards. Argh!

I got a recommendation for this card:

PNY SDHC 64GB Elite Performance CLASS10 UHS-1 R 10
http://www.amazon.de/PNY-Elite-Performance-CLASS10-UHS-1/dp/B00D87P08E/ref=w...I151B5C2C2T2V8

I couldn´t find a100MB version of it on B&H or amazon.com.

Has anyone any experience with it?

SONY 16GB SDHC MEMORY CARD CLASS 10 UHS-1 94MB/S EXTREME HIGH SPEED SD | eBay

This Company I have used many times, all they stock is memory of all types, the are in Jersey (Channel Islands) and legally don't have to charge VAT for delivery into the UK or the EU. They usually take a couple of days to deliver to UK addresses.

I wouldn't be so sure of this 'deal'. Ebay is the number one source for counterfeit SD cards that are very poor quality.

Poor quality only? The counterfeits I have seen (at least with thumbdrives) have less capacity than they claim to have. So you buy a 64 GB thumbdrive, but really it only has 1 GB. Once you go over that limit everything seems fine, you can even read the new files... But the old ones were overwritten.

Here is a good reference for memory card speed, Camera Memory Speed Comparison & Performance tests for SD and CF cards especially for the K3ii that they tested 56 different cards with.

A member of my family owns two som Photo shops. He adviced me to buy Lexar cards. The reason was that SanDisk Cards often brakes.
So, I bought two Lexar Cards: Lexar Professional SD XC II s 150MB/s 64 GB.
They game me repeating error messages.
I noticed that the white slide lock is very bright and allmost transparent.
I guessed the lock is working with a light mechanism??
So, I took a permanent speed marker and painted the sliding lockers Blue (should perhaps have been black..).
Now I don't get error messages anymore.

Jens

a couple of weeks ago, during all the Black Friday sales, I bought a pair of these cards:

http://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B00WWBCSG4?psc=1&redirect=true&ref_=oh_aui_detailpage_o01_s00

they are covered by a lifetime warranty and seem to be working as advertised in my K-3 without any issues....

These are generally great cards. I have several of them in regular use. However, although they carry the U3 rating a number of people, including me, have had them rejected by 4k cameras as not being U3. No idea what the problem is. Other U3 cards work fine in these cameras. So I highly recommend them for all other uses but not for 4k at high bit rates.

Sony Are Quite Good

I concur, I have( 2) 64GB Sony cards in my K3 and they are performing as you mentioned.

What speed card maximises the K3's faster read and write times?

Look into this card Sony 32GB UHS-I SDHC Memory Card (Class 10/U3) SF32UZ/TQN B&H I use two of them in my K-3. Supposedly they are different in that they write at a max rate of 90 Mb/s, I've had them for a year with no problems......So Far. There are other Sony Class 10 U3 cards that only have a max write speed of 70 Mb/s so look carefully before buying.

A quick search on Google shows a discounted price for this card as $296! Are you telling us you paid this much for a Class 10 U1 SD Card??

Amazon in the UK have a SanDisk Extreme PRO SDHC Memory Card up to 280MB/s. Is there any benefit to 280MB/S over the cheaper 95MB/S?

Thanks for the link that is very timely as I just ordered a K3 today .... should come in next week.
I have checked for availability in Canada and here is what I have found:
SDSDXPA-064G-C46 - Sandisk Extreme Pro 64 Gb Secure Digital High Capacity (sdhc) - Class 10/uhs-i - 95 Mbps Read - 90 Mbps Write - 1 Card - PC-Canada.com
Is this the card that is recommended in the article ?
I just want to make sure I am getting the best for the K3.
BTW, I have always used Sandisk cards in my K5 (32GB Extreme Pro) with success, so I am hoping this is it here.
Any comment(s) would be much appreciated.

Thanks!!

It looks like the same card, but they do change the models frequently so you can never be sure if they have made some subtle change. The last digits of the part number on the one the testing site links to on Amazon is X46 and the one you are getting is C46, but maybe they have slightly different model numbers depending on what country they sell them?? It probably doesn't matter, in general they keep making them faster so if they are selling a slightly newer version it should still work fine.

I had a SanDisk card fail after a few months (not the model you are buying) and SanDisk is sending me a faster replacement because they quit making the slower unit.
