Firmware treasures?

So as we al know we will get a firmware update somewhere between now and easter. For overall stability and to fix some minor things.

Do you think we will get some treasures with that firmware? Like the bigger buffer with the K-5? Or something else that might be hidden in the hardware to amaze us even more?

Time for wild speculations....

Heh, ISO 80 should bring the Dxo mark score to acceptable level and redeem the K3 .

I think the new firmware should include a puppy. Or they could just fix the M42 lens metering with the green button. That'd be nice.

Ability to choose the colour used in focus peaking.
When using both SD cards serially the ability to select which one to use.
Some means of indicating on the top panel whether you are in focus-point-select mode.
Ability to save alternate images to alternate cards if that can speed up the emptying of the buffer.
Re enable the simple navigation with the O-GPS
Save/restore all settings to/from SD card.
Recognize focal lengths <10mm.
Re-enable the **** quality jpg option.

Have info cycle through the screens instead of bringing up a menu.

Have the screen light up for a few seconds when pressing the AF point selection/quick menu button to know which mode you're in without looking through the viewfinder.

More options for the Fx/AF buttons.

Another way to light up the top LCD (EV comp was fine).

Lower res RAW option (wishful thinking).

It is already there, though only in JPEG. Set JPEG recorde pixels to M*** and you get a 14 MP picture with less noise than the K5. If you have to have 16MP then you can do it in PP by simply scaling down the 24MP picture to 16MP. It really is as easy as that,

That would be a great plan.

Indeed, that's what I do. I did not want the 24 MP resolution, but I wanted all the other improvements.

Add the ability to choose between SDM and screwdrive on lenses which offer them both so I don't have to send my 50-135 in for repairs.
