Bumping old thread since I just got one from the same ebay dealer. 1st didn't fit and the replacement I got looks like it's exactly the same thing. Guess I got to try a third time.

I tried one of the Expert Shield LCD protectors. Time will tell but it seems just fine to me. Just my two cents.

The Expert Shield is a screen protector not a glass protector. Different product. I had no luck with the screen protectors but maybe this one works.

Got a message back for the Acmaxx and he said there is no other size. As far as I'm concern they should be avoided.

I just checked and mine was from ebay seller onlinefred62 and listed as "ACMAXX 3.2" HARD LCD SCREEN ARMOR PROTECTOR for Pentax K3 K-3 K3D D DSLR". Fit perfectly and is still on rock solid. QA may be off at the manufacture? It sits down in the recess on both top and back glass without touching the glass, very precision fit. The glass on the LCD display may be tempered but unless it says gorilla glass it isn't, so I feel the extra protection is worth it. I carry mine in some pretty rough conditions and it has held up perfectly so far.

I bought from the same seller so I guess this is a warning to who else may buy it. It's the luck of the draw. I got 2 from him and both are too small, he offered no other solution.

Wow mine fits in the recess exactly too. I hope I will not need another one someday.

Hmmmm...now I'm in a conundrum!

Not the greatest feedback on the Acmaxx protector.

I had one for the k7 and found that some dirt managed to squeak in.
It was easy enough to take off and clean (for the most part).

So I was thinking of one for the K3, but I don't see any other glass protector options other than the thin film type.

ugh.

Not sure if it's worth taking the chance on another one given the feedback...

Cheers,
Keebler

I've been using the acmaxx on my K-3 all winter in multiple snow and dust storms (in the Colorado front range) and haven't seen any dust or moisture infiltration. I picked mine up a month or so ago and it fit perfectly. Maybe they just had a bad production run?

Sorry to reopen this old thread. I received my ACMAXX today and the protector is almost exactly the same size as the top of the beveled edge depression for the rear LCD. As a result, it is hard to position it without gaps. From the discussion here and the illustrations for the eBay listing, I was under the impression that the protector is supposed to sit within the depression. Was did I miss something?

That is what I thought, but the seller (onlinefred62) says otherwise and mine just sits precariously on the opening with little surface to actually adhere to.

Hi

With the new K-3 I decided for the first time to go without screen protector. Now one of my two K-3s LCD has a small but annoying scratch, god only knows how it got there. I now have decided to go back to screen protectors. I use this one, not cheap, but probably the best on the market.
Made by 3M. Extremely happy with it.
