Thanks for trying it out. Glad to hear it's not a widespread problem.

Same here, my battery was roughly at 70% and it wouldn't execute, fully charged it took less than a minute. Everything working fine so far.
My battery was 75% and had no problem downloading.

I upgraded yesterday and went out shooting today. After several dozen frames, my camera freaked and wouldn't stop shooting at top speed, even after I turned it off. Granted it's an impressive sound, but I could get it to stop until it reached it's maximum captures (I think).

I would be seriously pissed if I had been trying to capture an important moment at a wedding or something and I couldn't shoot for a while.

This sounds like the "mirror-gone-crazy" issue DogLover reported.

P.S. - It didn't take photos while stuck.

Yes, sounds like the same thing exactly. Could also be embarrassing if it happened at a more "discrete" time. They definitely need to bring out 1.02 asap, or whatever version fixes all the still known issues.

What are the circumstances when this mirror thing happens? Do you use grip, accessories etc?

I was using a grip, with a battery in the grip only, which has not been causing any previous issues. No other relevant accessories. Sigma 100-300/4 lens. Battery had plenty of charge, mild temperature conditions. Really no smoking gun.

Has this happened to anyone when not using a grip is my next question or is this a grip related issue?

It's not grip-related. I've been using my camera exclusively with the grip since I got it. No issues until I updated the FW. Problem happened within the first 25 or so captures after the update.

Ok, but my question is if anyone NOT using a grip has had this problem.

I'm confused (it's easy for me). How can this be declared to not be related to using a grip when you always use a grip?

Because this.

It's possible it's a combination of the grip plus the new firmware, but it's too coincidental to be a grip-only issue when it happened for the first time immediately after the update, especially since others are also reporting that it's also happened to them after updating.

Hmm, the folks in this thread were blaming it on firmware 1.0 and hoping the update would solve it.
