How soon until the K-3 is on sale?

Normally Boxing Day is the best time for sales (in Canada especially), but is the K-3 too new to benefit from this? I would be happy with my K-5, but its front dial has been broken for a long time, and now recently (after using it in the rain for 2 hours with the DA* 50-135 which shouldn't have mattered!) the shutter half-press mostly doesn't work. So I was thinking, maybe it's the perfect time to upgrade...

Also I'm in Vancouver (BC) - any advice for where to buy if I do? Gastown Photo seems to be the cheapest currently ($1,160).

It could be a while- it took the Ricoh GR almost 8 months to drop by $100 (about 15%), and the drop is only temporary.

Well we are seeing advertisement from Ricoh for the K-3 that we are all excited about, but someone has to pay for that. So I guess not before easter.

That's the best price by far for the body! I would just get that as the CAD loonie is expected to depreciate in 2014.

Here in the UK discounting has already started SRS in Watford have already dropped the price by £50 to £1049 from £1099, keeping up with other suppliers.

I buy a lot of my gear from SRS it's a 'proper' camera shop, they know what they are selling, not just box shifters, one of the few that deal direct with Pentax. If you quote your Pentax forum user name you will always get free 24Hr carriage (within the UK), and not just on Pentax gear.

My only gripe with them is they don't offer 6 months interest free credit on higher priced goods as Jessops and others do, if you're reading this Chris - how about it?

We have currently a cashback. So the body only started at 1299 euro, but that was just the price before hitting the stores. That became 1249 euro and with the 100 euro cashback, you pay 1149 euro. Wich is the same price as with the introduction for the K-7 in 2009. I think that it is past easter before the price is down to 999 euro.

Amazon is down to $1076 already so hopefully it is coming down quicker than previous bodies. $1170 in Canada is a good deal considering how much VAT, etc. you have compared to the US :-)

We do not have VAT in canda , it's sales taxes ans this added on the Selling price.
But some province do not have peovincial sales taxes or are not using the harmonised sales taxes.
