Top This!

Since the last remaining K-3 full review has not been done yet, if ever, I thought it might be useful, if not exactly humble, to hear selected bits from other, shall we say, more objective testers. DPR is sure to find a way to rate the K-3 (well) below the Nikon D7100 and Canon EOS 70D; Hardly news, there. Let's listen to a few quotes from the rest of the photography world, OK? Yes, there's a bit of cherry-picking here, but not much! 'Conclusion' Dec. 2013.
"We found the K-3 one of the nicest cameras to use of all the DSLRs we've reviewed this year to use in terms of general handling comfort. It was also one of the top imaging performers for still photography. In terms of value for money, there isn't a camera to match it when it comes to user-adjustable controls and functions; Hence our Editor's Choice nomination." 'Verdict' by Gavin Stoker 20 Dec. 2013.
"Providing excellent rendition of colours and sharp images with it, which has been as consistent a feature with Pentax as we could have hoped for...Generally speaking, Pentax DSLRs offer slightly more bang for your buck than Canon or Nikon equivalents, whilst in no way feeling or handling like a 'budget' alternative"

Imaging 'Preliminary Conclusion' Mike Tomkins/Dave Etchells 10-17-2013.
"The Pentax K-3 is a true, no-excuses premium DSLR, that stands toe-to-toe with anything in the market, while besting many on features and capability."

DXOMark Kevin Carter Nov. 25, 2013. 'One of the best performers of its type.'
"The slightly lower scores of the K-3 means it ranks slightly behind that of its closest rival bearing a similar 24Mpix sensor, the Nikon D7100, but it fares well against the Canon EOS 70D."

ED, PhotoUniverse.
"The best K-mount camera ever made." 'Conclusion' 11/27/2013.
"The Ricoh Pentax K-3 clearly delivers as the most feature-rich DSLR around, its high-resolution images makes it a superb landscape photography camera and its weather-sealed freezeproof body lets it travel in the toughest conditions to get the shot." John Riley Nov. 14, 2013.
"Looking at the APS-C competition, Pentax now seems (to) nudge into the lead, with the K-3..." 'Conclusion' Maxby Chan Nov. 4, 2013.
"Overall, I find the Pentax K-3 an improvement over their previous high end the K-5II and K-5IIs. What I liked was the improvements in image quality, sharpness and image details.
I like the wider dynamic range. It makes my B&W work easier. The high ISO noise controls are at a par with the K-5 which I can live with.
Now the most important question, would I buy this camera when it is available? Well, I am impressed with its performance and have since placed my name on the pre-order list." Jim Fisher.
"We think it's a better camera than our previous winner in the high-end APS-C DSLR category, the Nikon D7100, and that makes the K-3 our Editor's Choice."

Oh, there's more, lots more, here;
But, it's not polite to gloat.

In short:

Pentax is doomed!

Take that as a lesson in cherry picking!

(Too bad the K-5 is such a good camera - can't get myself to replace it.)
