K3 & Lightroom 4 vs 5

I currently have LR4, which doesn't have profiles for the K3. I've finally given up on the urge to get a newer, faster computer and am wondering if the profiles that are available in LR5 are worth the upgrade. I admit it would be nice to have the option of using either DNG or PEF and if I go back to shooting DNG only I'd like to be able to see what I'm importing, which are the main reasons I'll probably upgrade regardless. But has anyone tried both and seen a difference between having the camera supported and not? I wonder if anyone has any experience with it and can offer opinions before I take the new computer somewhere else to try to download all the upgrades/new software I will need to download (my internet connection at home is very slow - better than dial-up but not by much).

My solution to this problem is DxO. Any images that I really want to have done to the absolute best quality, I run through DxO first when using my DA lenses. The last notice I got from them indicated that the K-3 was up and running, I think. This is the best $150 I even spent back in 2008.

Thanks for the answer. I do have DxO but use LR for organization, so while I can always use DxO for conversions, I still want to use LR for a number of other things. Zerene stacker has a beta version that works as a LR plugin, which makes using it a bit easier. I also occasionally shoot exposure bracketed shots for HDR and it's a lot easier to find the right photos using LR, then export them to whatever HDR software I'm going to use.

I went ahead and bought LR5. I hate this new stuff about having to download software! My internet connection is not much faster than dial-up, so I have to go somewhere else to download updates or anything much. This morning I tried to download an update to iMovie (1.95Gb) and after 4 hours it had only downloaded 1.4Gb. It's taken me all weekend and I still haven't sorted out everything yet. I envy all of you with cable or DSL or other really high speed internet!

mtngal - have you considered a satellite connection? The uploads are painful for sure, but downloads are several times faster than dial up, I'm told.

Could you just get the huelight profiles? Huelight ACR & Lightroom Camera Profiles. I have Lightroom 5, but I use the huelight profile and that seems to work OK.
