I Bought A K-3 Yesterday

Earlier in the week I posted asking for advice on which camera to buy since the K-50 had been appropriated by the family. I got lots and lots of advice, all of it good and well informed. I will start by saying I love the K-50 and will be happy to shoot with it when the K-3 gets appropriated. I was just about to pull the plug on another K-50 when I was asked why not get a different model so we have more options available. Good question. So I then started seriously considering the K-5 iis because of the anti-aliasing or lack there of. Then I thought, what if I have moire problems. Then after reading many reviews I thought it would be nice to decide it I wanted to use ant-aliasing or not use it as the case warrants. The frugal part of me thought there is no way I am paying $1,300 for a camera body and the logical part of me thought that I tend to buy good things and keep them forever. I am not one to buy the latest fad and then move on to the next fad. I had my Nikon slr camera for over 35 years. Given that it suddenly made sense to buy the best available at the time and grow into it's capabilities since I will have it until it dies. Then low and behold Amazon had the K-3 of $1,104 from Amazon. so it has a USA warranty, plus they had zero interest financing for 12 months. I can't wait until it arrives.

All sounds good to me, enjoy once you get your hands on her and post a few images once you've got her tamed.

You did the right thing. Like me, I keep my things for a long time. Buying the one you want and will use for a long time Is the right way to go. Congratulations.

Psst... Remember to whine and moan about the K-3 then frequently point out how much better the K-50 is... or you'll find a K-50 under your pillow some morning and the K-3 missing...

Enjoy... M

So far, I'm liking my new K-3 + 50mm f/1.8 -- thanks B&H. Currently testing everything thoroughly before I invest in a DA* 60-250mm. I predict this will become my primary "long" system which I will use as a two-body kit along side of my current "wide" system: D800 + 24-70mm/14-24mm.

the 60-250 is a nice lens. I've got plenty longer but I never cease to be amazed at the sharpness of this piece of glass.
I'm sort of old school and think prime when I want a good photo, but the 60-250 does it well.
