Bookmark? hahah it looks like for some reason that the image wasn't recorded 100% to the card. Are all your images like this now? If so I would send it to the Pentax repair facility with a letter of explaining what is going on and when you purchased the camera. They are very good with repairs. I sent my WG in and even though I explained that it was past the warranty period, they still fixed it for free. But if this is the only time it has happened then I wouldn't worry unless if it happens again.

Yes, it could be a write error. Did you shoot jpeg or raw? This kind of stuff is often the SD card's fault. What kind of SD card are you using? Can you test that card in another camera, or another SD card in this camera?

I would suggest you download all the photos from the card. Then you can put it back into the camera and go to Menu, and Format the card. This might fix small hiccups like that. I would also suggest you update the camera firmware, if you haven't already. But use another SD card, just in case.
If this keeps happening, even with other SD cards, you should contact warranty.

Yeah. This could be the card, the camera, a dirty connection,or even a dying battery but something didn't write correctly. If this happened once probably nothing to concern yourself with, but if it recurs, make sure you battery is full (or try a new battery) and a new card. If it still recurs, they sell cheap kits for cleaning your card slots. I'd make sure that was cleaning before sending my camera off.....

I like the way it puts all the purple fringing in a little box at the edge of the photo rather than having it mixed up with the picture. Makes it easier to remove.

I think it's a feature which was meant to be in the next flagship model but got into the K-3 by mistake. It is rumored that there will be another similar box on the right where it will put all the noise.

Those features would certainly make waiting for the next model very attractive!

See Pentax think of every thing, this is what makes the K3 a top of the line camera.

Btw, I remember reading somewhere that some SD cards can be scanned for bad sectors and that improves their reliability. But I dont know the specifics. Considering its a 32GB class 10 card, it might be worth some research
