Firmware 1.03 out for K3

  • Correspond to HD PENTAX-DA AF REAR CONVERTER 1.4X AW.
  • Improved stability for general performance.
I hope this helps with the flutter issue.

And the link to this update.

Latest K-3 Firmware Update : Software Downloads | RICOH IMAGING

The big question is if the ''machinegun'' problem is solved by this firmware.

Waste of effort unless you just spent $600 on the HD PENTAX-DA AF REAR CONVERTER .
'Improved stability for general performance.' is meaningless unless there are some real 'fixes' and improvements which there obviously aren't otherwise they'd list them.

I sure wish they would provide more details when they say "Improved stability for general performance." It would help in determining whether or not to apply the update.

They've been using that statement in the last couple of firmwares that have either added new features or fixed issues without providing details. While it'd be nice to have them list what changes were made, it would be silly to just write off this update as "useless" because they don't show their details.

Nonsense. The firmware upgrades since 1.00 fixed a bunch of minor oddities such as not being able to turn SR on or off, the selection being greyed out when it should not have been. There were other items greyed out as well. Clearing the configuration fixed it. Each upgrade fixes a bunch of these little things, and they never have listed them. 1.01 changed some things in the autofocus, and it wasn't listed.

They don't list any except the major changes.

I agree, if they are proud of some fixes, they will list them

For one, they have corrected some miss spellings in the swedish menu so I think there are more things beeing corrected under the hood besides the things they write about.

There is an end coming to all good things I guess.

The logic maybe is that with a converter that expensive people probably also have funds to upgrade camerabody's.

As a software developer myself I can almost guarantee you that newer update 'fixes' a bunch of issues! Even if Ricoh doesnt list them out, there were certain changes in the firmware for sure. Ricoh may not have resources or may not wish to enlist what those fixes were. Now I just hope the changes really add value and not screw up what works

I think that there is no major fixes, like the camera "machine gun" mode for example, but yes probably some minor fixes still....
