So, is the RRS the only easily accessible option for an L plate for the K3?

Hi, I've also ordered and received the Mestos PD K3HL (renamed PD K3iiHL). I think it is useless as it is. Perhaps it is only my copy though. I cannot get it tightened enough. The particular shape of the bottom of the grip isn't properly machined into the L-bracket. There is too much play and the grip is rotating a couple of degrees till it hits the body. It is also partially blocking the HDMI / USB ports. The rubber seal cannot be opened.

Does anybody else experience the same thing? The seller is reluctant to refund all charges I (would have) made, ea VAT, administration fee and return shipping cost, all in total appr. eur 60,=.
Not a happy camper...

I bought mine off of a Pentax forum member. The guy that started this thread off to begin with. The one I bought from him does fit OK and attaches fine but yes indeed there is no room to bring out the USB door. If he is reading this, thanks a lot guy! But the battery door does open and that is the main thing. But I have the one that attaches to the battery grip.

I also got the one that attaches to the battery grip. Does yours fit without using any rubber strips? (Bare metal on bare grip?)

Yes bare metal on bare plastic battery grip. Tightens down nicely.

Since I've put 2 pieces of vulcanizing tape between the bracket and the grip, the bracket doesn't move anymore. Not the way it is supposed to be but the best compromise in my view...Would I have known this in advance I would have thought twice..

Mine doesn't move that i've ever noticed. I couldn't tell you the last time I opened the rubber door, so no idea if it blocks that or not.

I'm looking to purchase an L Bracket for my K3 I was wondering if there's an up to date product list or any recommendations. Preferably under $100.

Thanks in advance.

Under $100 you're looking at something universal, not made to fit the specific camera. Finding one intended for use with a grip may be a bit of a pain, not sure.

You can get this one intended for a generic dslr body without grip from B&H for $20. Desmond Desmond DAL-1 QR L Plate DAL-1 B&H Photo Video

since posting last I been looking at a universal one for about $50 called the 3 legged thing but it's nice to see one less then half the price made of metal.
