I have a K-3 and a K-5 IIs. I have a FA31 but have no experience with the Sigma fast 30's.

For what it's worth, when all is said and done, I would happily forego my K-3 in order to keep the FA31 to use on the K-5 IIs.

I only have one, possibly two Pentax lenses I'll be getting to complete my basic line-up. Then I'll definitely start exploring manual and third-party lenses. I'd love to do something like this:

DA21Ltd or DA15Ltd

DA*60-250 or Sigma 120-400os/150-500os

...then whatever floats my boat. But after this last purchase, I probably won't buy a lens for a while but, I seriously do want to cover both ends. Tele-zoom at the top with a wide-prime at the bottom. Yes, it has to be a "Ltd" prime(preferably a DA21), but I'd have no problem with doing a Sigma zoom at the top. I've considered the DA*300 but, if I was shooting something that long, it would probably be birds at the beach/park or zoo animals, so I figured a tele-zoom would be more useful for tracking quickly than foot zooming.
