Ohhhh, the anticipation!

I placed my first order last Friday for a new K-3 plus grip, flash and Flu-card.

I made a second order today for a Pentax 12-24mm F4 lens.

What to do until it all arrives? I keep checking the shipping status but it does not update hourly (or daily for that matter) but that does not stop me from checking!

What do you do, when you are waiting for your new gear?

Mark out a circle on the ground.
Run around circle until you pass out from dizziness and exhaustion.
Regain consciousness when UPS rings your doorbell.

Ohh, that feeling
that is a gooood feeling, often results in less than perfect credit card balance, worn-out wheel for rationalization hamster, and an extra package delivered by men in brown.

Ha, I know exactly what you are talking about! I got my K-3 the day before yesterday after waiting for five long, long days.

And indeed, that is what I was doing!

Of course, when it finally arrived it was raining all day and I was restricted to indoor testing...

Nice. That lens is fun. Spend your time reading or looking at wide angle lens shots and what works. I found that you need to be close, very close to get amazing shots.

I'm in the same holding period. My new K3, grip, & FluCard will be here on Wednesday. Just in time to get both batteries charged and get somewhat familiar with it before next weekends Madison Regatta!

Going to be nice having 2 bodies to work with. I figure I'll leave the 18-55mm on the K200D and the 55-300mm on the K3. No more swapping lens'!!!

Yeah, I try to find as many distractions or things to keep me as pre-occupied as possible. It rarely works though

As I have a memory like a goldfish I argue with the delivery driver saying that it surely cannot be for me, take the package in eventually, wait for an email/phonecall from the company that supplied said item and then after a few days of waiting open the package and feel extremely lucky that someone sent me a nice gift. I then swim around the bowl for a bit chasing my tail, wake up in a frenzied sweat and think I'm in Dallas with JR.

In reality, I do forget although generally the things I order arrive next day - like with the K-3, so really no waiting & I was busy at work to take my mind off it. However when it has arrived and I have opened it:

charging the battery for the first time takes forever and I find myself staring at the green light hoping it will go out soon!!
