Are you aware of any operational differences between TAv and M+Auto-ISO? I've not noticed any.
I was unable to find any, that is one reason why I disabled auto-ISO on my K-3.

Yesterday I was shooting a gig and I ended up using a Tv mode. Av mode opted for a shutter speed that was too slow and auto ISO suggested 25600. I turned the camera to Tv mode and set ISO to 12800. The lights did change alot, but I found that 1/100 was fast enough in most cases.
The set up was as follows : Sigma 18-35 F1.8, Pentax K-3. The lens was used wide open all the time.
