Lens Hood with 18-135 kit ?

Hi, a couple weeks ago, i went in a store and checked the k3. The salesman showed me what was included in the kit, and I am almost sure i remember having seen a lens hood for the 18-135. Now, they don't have any more in that particular store, so they asked their other store to deliver them the k3 alone. So i will get the box for the pentax k3 and the 18-135 lens in a buble wrap. But the salesman says there's no lens hood. I think he's lying or doesn't know , can anyone tell me if there is one please? If there's one, can anyone find me the proof that it's included? (I searched unboxing videos, forums, internet, but didn't find the proof except on the site of a store called Henry's : PENTAX K-3 D-SLR W/18-135 WR LENS 15541).

Thank you!

P.S. : Be indulgent with my mistakes, English isn't my main language

The salesman told me that the hood comes with the lens alone, but not when its a kit with the lens. (Like Canikon does)

Yes the lens hood should be included. It's available separately for around $45.

The factory lens hood is absolutely necessary on this lens.
Although you can use a screw on lens hood, if you add it to a filter
you can get corner cropping at the lower end of the soon.
The factory lens hood is expensive.
I bought mine from B&H and it came with a factory lens hood.

Do not accept the 18 – 135 WR lens without a a factory lens hood !!.

Stay safe and have fun.
Joe.

This may or may not be true. If it's a store-offered kit then they technically can do whatever they want with the accessories, but if the store is an authorized dealer then they shouldn't be doing that.

I bought it as part of a kit albeit a K-5II kit and yes, it came with the hood. So if it's the official kit it should come with the hood so sounds like these guys have just made up their own deal to get rid of some stock. Also sounds like they're trying to pull the wool over your eyes.

Therefore it's for you to decide. Are you getting a good enough deal to accept it or would you prefer to get the official kit? Personally, I'd worry about the history of this bubble wrapped lens and run a mile, unless it's a really really good deal...

Thanks for help everyone. I called him yesterday, to tell him that i was sure the hood was included. He verified and told me he would do necessary so i could get it. The thing is canikon don't offer the hood in the kits, so he thought pentax was the same. He said he will order a full kit for me, but i only have 2 weeks before i travel, so i can't wait that long.
