No, it shouldn't be a problem, but if you're worried about it just delete the folder then re-format the card in camera after the update.
All righty then! Looks like I'm ready to go. Thanks for the help and sorry to be such a pain.

Not a pain at all. That's what the forum is here for.

Thanks for the hand-holding. The update went well. Version 1.11 is installed, the camera works fine, and now I know what to do next time.

I think so, just open up the drive to make sure, if you can see the file after you click on the drive once, then it is root folder. If you have to look for it, and open another folder, it needs to be moved. Then stick it in slot 1 of the camera, and turn on camera while holding menu button.
I always just put the SD card in my computer, download the zip file to the sd card and extract the contents of the zip folder. I then delete the zip folder and put it in the camera. that way it doesn't get lost on the desktop or downloaded somewhere you cant find it

Raider: had you experienced Mirror Flap before?

Will be the acid test to see if users who have had it, no longer experience it, presuming that is what that line on the description means.

I've had one incident with locking up and one incident with mirror flap after updating to Ver. 1.10. Updated to 1.11 Friday night 4200+ shots yesterday with no issues yet. Probably will do that again today.

The same here with the latest "hang" being on Friday. I did the upgrade yesterday and would be pleased if the "hang" goes away.

I shot a fundraiser yesterday and used my 540 flash gun. First time shooting in that space and the walls were black. I'm hoping the black wall had something to do with it but my flash was very inconsistent. It over exposed several times using TTL. I've never had that issue before the update. I'll need to try again and see.

What an ordeal!! Last night, I spent a couple of hours trying to do my first firmware update from 1.00 to 1.11 on my K-3. Nothing but problems as I could not get my Macbook Pro to recognize the SD Card.

I got the SD card sorted this morning and followed the instructions for the actual update. Everything was going as explained up to the "NOW LOADING" part. Suddenly the camera just turned off. I waited and waited, thinking it may need to re-boot and complete the installation. Nothing... My heart sank with fears of a bricked camera. I waited some more and still nothing... No "COMPLETE"

I turned the camera to OFF and removed the SD card. Turned the camera to ON and thankfully it did turn on. I checked the firmware version and sure enough it says 1.11
Is this normal? Has anyone else experienced this?

Time to go take some pictures check that it's all working as it should.

It doesn't tell you complete. When it's a black screen, I usually turn it off and turn it on again and it's good. It's kinda stupid, yeah.
