K3 HDR options?

Apologies if this is answered in another thread but I searched and came up empty.

The K3 has four HDR options - Auto, 1, 2 and 3. The handbook doesn't explain the differences.

Does anyone know?

The numbers just indicate the strength of the HDR effect (i.e. the difference in exposure between the 3 shots). The higher numbers will produce a more dramatic but also more artificial effect.

Thanks Adam. Some experiments tomorrow, I think.

Best to shoot jpegs to start with. With RAW, you just get a huge file containing the three individual RAW images. Most software has no idea what to do with it.

I never use it. I prefer to obtain the HDR in postprocessing (photomatix), after collecting a bracketing of 3 RAW images.

I think the overall effect is way better when you combined the imagines outside the body using different software like photomatix or photoshop. Have been experimenting with it and HDR straight from camera does not look as good as the ones done outside he body.
