Beautiful camera. Now all you need to do is to switch to the gray-tone color scheme for the rear LCD and all will be good.

Steve
I switched to the 9th option which is a dark ruby red and black combination colour - looks great with the gunmetal/platinum look.

Congratz! I just ordered one today. I can't wait to see it. This will be my first Pentax camera.

Mine arrived yesterday. Great bit of kit!

I am hoping all the issues are resolved on it. I waited for a K5 and that has been fine.

Just opened the box. I'm a bit dissapointed. It does not feel as nice/solid as the K-7 and I'm pretty sure it is plastic not magnesium alloy as the ordinary version....

Its magnesium alloy but not the grip and not there flash housing. Ricoh wouldn't build plastic bodies just for the tail end of a camera run...

From B&H promo article on Camera release: "Other notable features are the weatherproof and cold-proof magnesium-alloy body, the 27-point SAFOX11 autofocus system, Real Time Scene Analysis System, and in-camera Shake Reduction."

Depends if you believe all advertising I guess...

The magnesium is inside, there is a plastic cover around it!

The K-7 is magnesium covered and feels more expensive than the K-3 prestige. The buttons also have a better feel. The mode dial is almost flimsy.
