Micro USB 2 cable can be used/fitted to the USB port on the K3 (and other devices)! You don't get USB 3 speed though!
Don't know if the K-7 cable is micro USB 2 or not but it does not fit any of the port of my K-3

You can most likely use the same USB cable that charges your phone. Just plug it into the larger side of the USB 3.0 connector on the camera. Obviously you will only have USB 2.0 speeds.

That will work if the phone uses a USB 2.0 micro and the cable is not "charge only". I have a couple that have no data channel.

Steve

I haven't run into any cables that were charge only. I'll have to be on the lookout for that. Thanks!

USB 3.0 cables can be found fairly cheaply on eBay. I paid US $5 (shipping included) for mine. Judging from a quick scan of the UK and Australian eBay sites, the costs are fairly similar in other countries.

The transfer speed from the camera is significantly faster than my USB 2.0 card readers, so now I routinely download my images straight from the camera.

FYI, the cable to get is the "USB 3.0 Type A Male to Micro Type B Male Cable ."

Cheers,
Lou

.

Something that really irritates me is when suppliers give really cheap items that if they really thought about it would be an embarrassment to them if the parts were branded with their own brand. I find it frustrating to have something which is let down by the poor quality of cheap add ons. But then again, I am also very frustrated by the poor quality of many products sold alone because there is too much emphasis on cutting the last few cents of cost.

This is what is in my bag. The quality is excellent and the price decent. Their warranty (lifetime) and return policy is top-rate as well.
