My K-3 Beeps A Lot... Why?

I just got my K-3 last night and I haven't really had a chance to look at my manual yet to figure this one out (won't have a chance to read through the manual until the weekend), so I'm hoping someone here can explain this to me. My K-3 seems to beep a lot. Anyone know why? Coming from a K-30, I'm not really used to this. I haven't really pinpointed when it beeps specifically, but it seems to occasionally be when I either perform a function (formatting an sd card or taking a picture, etc.).

Any help is greatly appreciated. I'm just hoping it's not a warning or something. Thanks!

Hmmmm...I don't remember mine being more talkative than my K10D was. You can turn off the beeps you don't want.

Thank you. I was worried someone was wrong with my camera! I will remove the card the next time I shoot and I'll see if it makes a difference. Thanks!!!

Check the Setup menu, page 1. The camera defaults for the Sound Effects category is that the beep is "Volume 3/All On" for "In-focus, AE-L, Self-timer, Remote Control, Mirror Up, Change AF Point, and the Raw/FX button operation." You might want to turn some, or all, of them off.

You're lucky. I lost my high frequency hearing many years ago, so I hear no beeps. It's a shame, because I would find an In-focus beep very useful. The others, not so much.

Cheers,
Lou

That's the first thing I find on a new camera,
The "Sound Off" setting,
and it never goes back on,
