So I put on the update on the camera and it said "Now loading" and I went and did some other stuff. According to the Pentax website it should say "Complete" when done. But I guess I missed it, the camera is stil in the "On" position.
How long does it actually take to update? I'm really scared of actually turning it off, although I guess it's finished updating.

The update only takes a minute or two.
If you are worried, without turning it off, look in the menu and see what it says about the firmware version.
Menu > C > Firmware Info.

Otherwise, just turn it on/off. Bricking is rare.

Every time I've done a firmware update I've been to scared to walk off. I always watch - not that watching would make the slightest bit difference to the outcome!

For some reason the latest updates I have done I never notice it say complete. Must go by very quickly.
