Turn on K3 body and grip

Is there a setting on the K3 where you turn on the body and it also turns on the grip without actually having to turn on the grip?

Not that I am aware of.
They are separate mechanical switches.

Just keep the grip switch set to on at all times. The switch on the camera is the only one that actually controls the power.

Actually, on my K-3, leaving the portrait switch on has cause problems. When viewing pictures, and trying to show others the picture that I just took the camera frequently shuts down the screen when the orientation has been changed. And every time I noticed this behavior, I found the portrait switch had been inadvertently turned on. Now I always make sure this switch is off before I start viewing pictures on the camera screen.

Note: I remembered that I had updated the software since I noticed this behavior, So I rechecked this, and found that the software update seems to have corrected this problem. So if you're going to leave the switch on make sure you have the current software update installed on your camera.

I find that my little finger loves to press the release button on the grip when I am in landscape mode, just enough to enable the AF or SR. I'm using a K10D with Pentax Grip. I leave the grip turned off except when I need it.

I always thought that this was caused by my palm accidentally tapping the shutter button on the grip thus putting the camera back into capture mode.
