yes, it is yyyy/mm/dd, mine is 2014/10/20... don't forget to add yours to the serial number database here.

Got my new K-3 today from B&H, ordered before Xmas, and it has 1.11 firmware. I didn't notice if there was a note about it in the box, I left all the packing at work. I will check tomorrow.

Edit: Note was in the box regarding the 1.11 firmware.

Mine was manufactured July 2014 I think, and came with updated firmware; note was in the box

What will I gain by updating firmware 1.10 to 1.11 on my K-3? I haven't had the mirror problem and I'm not really concerned with exif data for flash. The Ricoh site is singularly unforthcoming about the other changes.

I have updated my firmware to 1.10. I didn't do 1.11 because it seemed minor. Today my camera locked up completely. I had to take the battery out and reinstall to unlock it. Will the upgrade help this. First time it has frozen in over a year.

It is unlikely that the 1.11 firmware would make a difference regarding lock-up tendency. One lock-up in a year indicates very little to worry about - normal operation.

That said, the K-3 has been shipping with the 1.11 firmware for many months now (including mine purchased back in November). Assuredly, 1.11 is better proven than 1.10; I'd update for the peace of mind alone.
