Congratulations. Which one are you going to choose?

I'm not sure but am thinking maybe the Pentax SMCP-DA 15mm F/4 ED AL HD Lens. Going to take some time and see just what might work best for me. I haven't done much birding so a long lens doesn't tempt much. I do a lot of studio work, still life and such but have been wanting to maybe do a bit more landscape work. I would like very much to be able to do some abstract work like Weston , White, or Bullock.

The more I use my 15 the more I find myself using it, if that makes sense. It's wide enough for interior shots, not just landscapes. It was one of two lenses I used last week at my daughter's class party - some wonderful images. Good luck with your decision.

What would you use for landscapes?

Thanks Tina.

I use the 15 or my 10-24 for landscapes. My point was that the 15 isn't just for landscapes.

Yes, I finally saw I had misread. Time for me to put up the wine and toddle off to sleep. Thanks again.

Good grief I need a word with him pronto, he'll get the rest of us a bad name with this sort of behaviour.

The 15mm f/4 is a really great lens. I purchased the HD version a few months back, absolutely love it. It is my new daily driver lens.

Thought #1 - He forgot to get you a gift and pulled out a great last minute save. Been married 38 years so I know a little about last minute saves.

Thought #2 - If he will get you a lens for a nice tasting dinner, what would he get for you if ......................? Oh never mind. Just thinking like a man.

Thought #3 - "What a darlin' man."

As for a lens, I would strike while the iron is hot and get a Pentax DA 560 f5.6 AW lens. It's $1,000 off at B&H right now and you can show him how much money you saved him. With the savings he will be so impressed that he will get you the 15mm Limited too and still have some scoots left over to take you out to dinner. After all, we are men and it is pretty easy to manipulate us with a smile and a wink.
