Are K-3 bodies available at retail outlets?

I want to find a store where I can walk in and buy a
K-3 body. Do any retail chains handle them?

I know Precision camera carries them, but I don't know if it is an only Austin, TX thing or if they have them in other places.

No chains that I know of. Some small camera shops. B&H will have them at their store. Better luck the larger the city.

Here is the dealer locator: Find a RICOH Imaging Retailer

What part of W PA?

You could always try:
  • BERNIES PHOTO CENTER
  • 525 East Ohio Street
  • Pittsburgh, PA 15212-5516
  • 412-231-1718

But with the return policy of Amazon, B&H, and Adorama it's much simpler and cheaper to wait for one of them to have the sale you are looking for and buy it through them.

Unfortunately the find a Ricoh dealer is not kept up too well. It lists some out of business dealers along with missing new dealers. Recently Midwest a Photo in Columbus, Ohio has started carrying Pentax . I was in there a few weeks back, they had k-3 and several lenses. I know they carry 645z also.

The last time I saw a Pentax in a store was when the Kx came out and Target was still carrying them.

Pretty close to the same distance from Pittsburgh, Erie, and State College.
So pretty much out in the middle of nowhere.

I've been reading some really bad reviews for the online places, so I'd rather just buy one outright, even if I had to pay a little extra.

Pretty much the only people who write online reviews are people who had a bad experience and want to vent, or trolls.

My K-x came from Abe's of Maine, good price but I got a phone call with an strong up-sell pitch.

My K-5 came from Amazon. Sold by Emmy Photo, but fulfilled by Amazon, and I wouldn't hesitate to buy that way again.
