I would sell the K-3 now to maximize resale if you plan to do that anyway to buy the FF.

My problem would be keeping from spending the money on something else and saving up the extra $2000 difference

Nah, I'll just keep my K-3 and K-5iis.

If they make the sensor with the same pixel density as the K-3 so that the crop mode will be at 24 MP I will sell the K-3, i.e arround 58 MP. I hope they donīt. Otherwise I will keep it for wild life and buy the K-? for landscape.

Given what B&H is getting for a brand new K-3 these days I'll just hang on to mine and decide what to do about the K-2 when it actually is available. By that time a perfectly wonderful K-3 body will probaably have a Marketplace value around $350. $350 won't make or break my K-2 decision - so I'll just keep my K-3 either way.

I mean, I still have my K10D . . . . . so

Yes....this has much to do with my decision also. Im curious as to what exactly the sensor will be ? Pentax can really make it or break it on this alone. For me 58MP is a pass for me for sure on FF unless reviews come back too good to be true. I would like to see it at about 40MP or slightly lower to feel confident.

Is this because you are concerned with pixel density?

In a way...yes. Actually I wish the K3 was a 20mp. I know this may not be a popular consensus here. It is a concern with FF for me.Too much of a good thing can cause its own new set of problems.

If the new FF camera comes with only 36MP, then in crop-mode, the pixels would be less than the k-3. Nah... I think I will keep my k-3 (as primary) even though I may get the FF (as a backup).

This is all a bit silly though isn't it, because sensors on cameras like the Nikon DF (d4) with 16mp FF sensors are great. Yet they don't get kicked around. Yet you are worried about cropping from an even more modem sensor?

Don't worry about it. It will drive you batty if you do.

Unless you work requires that medical military precision?

That's the beautiful part....I have NO reason to use a FF camera in Crop mode. I never bought any APS-C lenses except the 18-135WR....ALL my Prime Pentax lenses will work on Pentax FF.....You see...I have anticipated this camera for a very long time and prepared for this moment that is coming. I would like to see it right at 36MP sensor.

I wontīt sell mine. Itīs my only body at the moment and if the FF is affordable i might get one, but will still keep the K-3 as backup. I would love to get the new FF with a 70-200mm, but i donīt think i will be able to afford that combination. But first Pentax has to provide a lovely FF. (for me a very good low iso performance is key for a FF body. Thats why i hope they donīt jump the mp train and get a 36mp sensor at max.) I canīt wait for the first reviews of the new 70-200mm lens. For the price difference it has to be a beast of a lense. I have two good kidneys. So... any need?

Do not sell now... wait until FF is ready to come out. And then, with the massive sell off gear that usually happens when events like this happen, there will be cheap K-3s for everyone to pick up.

Huh? Sell the K-3 for 50 cents on the dollar to buy something that fills a different niche. That is just plain silly.
