How long do I have to wait till they release a camera that combines the best features of the K-3 II and S2 and add a touchscreen?

No need to wait, buy both the k-3 II and k-S2, you have the best of both worlds. Besides, you need to have both cameras to mount your favorite lenses, so you are ready to shoot any time.

The FF will probably have that. For APSC it will probably be another year or 2 at least, I think that was the interval from the K-5II and the K-3.

I doubt touch screen will make it in though, hasn't been a direction for Pentax so far.

Pentax k3II is a High Price for a small diference

I don't think is a good idea to buy this Pentax K3II right now.
Is better to wait the price drop like regular Pentax K3
I don't see a big difference between these two cameras and my question is
about the flash spot. The top cover are in plastic or metal?

That would be nice, but unfortunately I'm not rolling in dough. Think I'm just going to wait and see the reviews on the K-3II after it's released. I'm a bit excited about features like the Pixel Shift system and improved shake reduction, etc., but those might turn out to be things that look better on paper than they really are in practice. (The faster focusing would be nice if it worked on any lens besides the ones that cost as much or more than the camera itself, but since it doesn't I can't get too excited about that.) If it all doesn't add up to much, I'll probably save myself some money and go with the K-3, and that way I wouldn't have to do without the popup flash - which I hardly ever use, but it's useful in a clutch. I wish either one had the articulating screen and wireless system of the S-2 - it's too bad you're forced to sacrifice the convenience features of the one to get the better image quality of the other, but it is what it is.

I hate this new K3II already !
Im supposed to be on a 4-6 month Road trip but decided to wait until mine gets delivered next week to leave. Its slowing me up BAD..... but one thing is certain.....there will be no guessing in a few days ! I simply cant understand all the fuss about the flash , the price , and discussions of this model and always being diverted to FF somehow ? I keep saying this over and over...."ITS GOING TO BE THE BEST LANSCAPE FIELD CAMERA TO DATE BAR NONE".....that's obvious as the Handwriting is on the Wall !
As soon as it gets delivered Im outta here within about 5 seconds or less......lol.......... Cant wait !
