K3 vs D750 some sample gallery

https://www.flickr.com/photos/borisromac/sets/72157651745973508/

I will add more photos soon, and my impression after I will know Nikon more.

Pentax is Very good, even sharper than nikon, but Nikon have so good autofocus that is pleasure to shoot with.

enjoy

Not really a fair comparison, the Nikon being a Full Frame and cost about twice as much as the K3. I like the colors from the Pentax over the Nikon. The Nikon has much less noise at high ISO.

With the right lens ... try the D750 with a Nikon screw drive lens one day.

The SWM focus motor on modern Nikon lenses is usually very nice though. Better than SDM. It contributes a lot to the responsive feel of Nikon's AF.

Would be good to see examples with equivalent focal lengths, apertures, and ISOs. However, I think it's clear that the D750 files show much less noise even at the lower ISOs. Not even a contest. Not really a huge surprise; 24MP FF vs. 24MP crop. Pentax rendering is also much more vivid in these. That's more of a personal preference thing.

Were these shot in RAW? D750 high ISO looks smeared, like it already underwent some cheapo noise reduction.

K3 is at RAW, Nikon JPEG, because my old Photoshop doesn't edit NEF files from D750, I know that I can convert them, but was to lazy

soon will add some settings photos, afther I create some interesting scene.

I am surprised how well the K3 is doing in terms of sharpness.
Nikonīs better noice performance is to be expected from a FF

The difference in those 2 crops might be due to different DOF. The original K3 image looked sharper at both edges than the D750.

When I shoot concerts with my colleagues who have FF they always produce less noise in their images...to be expected. They also gather more light then I do meaning that I have to shoot at higher ISO to get the same exposure. My camera gear is much lighter weight so there is a trade off. My back hurts less by the end of the show.

The 750 is a wonderful camera though. My buddy Mike Savoia is shooting the Monsters of Rock Cruise in the Caribbean. He uses his D700 and his D750. He is mostly using his 2 D750 now.

Very well done Cougar. I had evaluated a friends Nikon D610 Vs my K3 last year for high iso noise performance. K3 came out very close to the D610. I ultimately recommended to my friend to return his D610 for a D7100. There was no point in the immense bulk of a Nikon FF over small improvements in high iso noise performance. You test just validates my observations. K3 except its autofocus is exceptional value for money at the moment. However last year K3 was the king of APSC and rightfully so

You have the Nikon set to sRGB and the Pentax set to AdobeRGB which might explain the colour and saturation difference. I'd be interested to see a comparison with both cameras on sRGB.

@danny09 tnx for Your comment, I agree Pentax is very good, and definitely great buy for casual & semi pro shooter in tough conditions.

@Flasher I will set pentax on adobe colour space to, and make new photos as soon as I can. What Colour space is better to use ?

Tnx
