A X post from the 24-70mm thread...

So, I took the plunge and bought a 24-70mm and the 70-200mm, and apart from my house and cars, these two are probably the most expensive things that I'ver spent on myself - ever!

Anyhow, they arrived yesterday and these are the first pics I've taken with the 24-70mm on my K3-II. The weather was a bit grim and I had 5 mins before I had to leave for work, so nothing exciting I'm afraid... and all Jpegs straight from the camera.

So, using my 24-70mm, I wanted to take an arty shot of Malcolm, our elderly rescue cat, whilst shooting directly into the evening sun. I held the camera quite low (not looking through the view finder), and shot at will.

This is the result of the autofocus focussing on the nearest thing, which I quite like and is now me desktop!

This is the shot I was hoping for.

Both shots Jpeg taken straight from the camera with a little tweak in iPhoto...
