If somebody wanted to see what happens with moving water, I suppose a sink or bathtub faucet could also work for the experiment. So who is the K-3 II owner that's going to step up and deliver?

If I had one, I would do it. It wouldn't be the first time my wife saw me doing something around the house that looks crazy, for the sake of an internet forum.

Mmmh... I think pixel shift could work in that context better than with a waterfall.
Why? Because you have white water on a supposedly white porcelain background, so you're less likely to see artifacts.
That's why, IMHO, it's less valid a test.
That of course if the porcelain or whatsit is white...

Replacement K3II is in the house and functioning 100% Hazzah!!! Now I just need to find a waterfall in Boise, Idaho... Portland, Oregon was a much easier town to test camera gear in!

Indeed! The Keller Fountain is a great stand-in for a waterfall and there is plenty of the real thing a half hour east of town.

OK, so there are some strange looking artifacts in the 100% view.

Basically I would not use the high res mode with the 10 stop ND or when shooting a waterfall. It's not really needed anyway, but might have been fun...

The artifacts would probably be easier to see if you could link to the full-size picture.

The tripod wasn't exactly rock steady either... but I think the motion of the water kinda speaks for itself. I will have to test more seriously, but so far I think it's a no go.
